At the very beginning of the Ethic Village Djerba project, it seemed obvious to us that one of the most effective ways to promote our project was to use the power of social media, an unparalleled amplifier.
And that proved true quite quickly when I posted on my personal Twitter account:

As you can see, it got more than 200 retweets and over 500 likes — not bad, masha’Allah!
So I quickly created (Subscribe!):
- the Twitter account @ethicvillage
- the Instagram account @ethicvillagedjerba
- the Facebook page Ethic Village Djerba
Several well-known accounts, may Allah preserve them, helped us quickly reach 1,000 followers on Instagram — the threshold at which I had announced I would launch a contest to win a free week of rental. For reasons beyond our control, we fell a bit behind on this contest, which had not yet been launched.
A few weeks later, we reached the 500-follower mark on Twitter, the threshold set for launching the Twitter contest. Facebook will also be part of it when we reach 5,000 fans insha’Allah. (We’re very far from that — we’re counting on you, insha’Allah!)
The contest launch
The contest linked to the 500 Twitter followers is now launched, with a free week of rental in one of the two villas up for grabs:
- Diamant, which has been available since last summer
- Saphir, which should be available on April 16th of this year, insha’Allah.
So last Friday evening, I launched the Twitter contest with this tweet:
With the help of another tweet, from @alkanz, which will also count towards the contest:
We’re now at almost 1,000 retweets and over 500 likes on both tweets combined — not bad, masha’Allah!
So, enter the Twitter contest and subscribe to all our social media to stay informed about the two other contests to come.
The Twitter contest drawing will take place on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 8pm, insha’Allah!
